The Best Apple Pie Filling Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tbsp water
  • 5 cups peeled and chopped apples
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice mix or your preferred spices
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups apple juice

Instructions
 

  • Stir the vinegar and water together in a mixing bowl and toss the apple pieces with it.
  • Combine the sugar, spices, salt, and cornstarch in a pot and whisk them together. Whisk in your apple juice and bring it to a boil over medium heat.
  • Add the apple pieces to the liquid and stir to combine well. Bring the filling back to a boil and cook for about 10 minutes.
  • Put the filling in a bowl, cover, and refrigerate overnight (or up to 3-4 days).
